Upcoming Dates:

No School at this time.  We will return on March 30th.  I will let you know if there are any changes. 

Please make sure to pick up your child's learning packet.  Please work on this with your child daily.  

Learning Packets are being distributed at the school Wednesday, March 18, Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20 from 9-3pm.

 

What we are learning:

Please work with your children on the following:

- Sight Words

- Blending words - please tell them to rollercoaster.

- Reading books with comprehension questions.

- Rhyming words, first sound, last sound

- Addition and Subtraction to 10

- Fluently knowing addition and subtraction problems to 5 

- 2D and 3D shapes 

- Counting to 100 and counting by 10's to 100 

- Writing and Recognizing numbers 20 

(We were just starting subtraction last week so please do not be frustrated if your child does not understand.)

(We also give your child counting chips and blocks to do these problems.)

- Please have your child draw a picture of their interest and write about it daily.  Your child can sound out the words by telling them to stretch them out.  It is ok if they do not spell the words correctly.  They learn to write by sound first.  

- Please make sure that your child write their letter and numbers from top to bottom.  

Thank you for all that you are doing right now.  I know this is a lot.  We are here if you need us and we will be working daily during this time. 

 

Lunch:

If your child needs a meal this week.  Please know that they are being delivered by bus or you can also come and get them at the school from 11-1pm.  These meals are free of charge and can be picked up at Stanfield Elementary in the car line area.
